Connecting Through Community
Living in community is very important. It provides many opportunities to connect with others and establish meaningful relationships.
Jesus showed us during His earthly ministry the many aspects of community. He connected with twelve men with whom He spent the majority of His time developing meaningful relationship with. He ate with them, taught them, ministered with them and He showed them just how special living in community can be. This became the pattern for the early church.
“They worshiped together regularly at the Temple each day, met in small groups in homes for Communion, and shared their meals with great joy and thankfulness”. (Acts 2:46 TLB)
They enjoyed spending time together sharing meals, talking, laughing, praying and learning at the larger temple gatherings as well as small groups that met in homes, the market place or wherever two or more gathered in Jesus’ Name.
Here at Faith Covenant Church we understand the importance of developing Christian community in our large gatherings and especially in small groups which we call “Life Groups.” Within our “Life Groups”, men, women, couples, young adults, youth and children will experience the dynamics of connecting together through community.
